About the Counselor...
Hello! My name is Mrs. Emily Calcaterra and I am so excited to be joining the talented team at Washington Elementary! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing summer...I enjoyed some time with my own family and am beginning this year inspired and energized.
As the school counselor at Washington, it is my job to address the developmental needs of all students through the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program in the areas of academic and personal/social development. Counseling programming includes classroom guidance, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support. I will be working with students through school-wide events, in the classrooms, as well as meeting with them in small groups and individually. I am an active member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). If you would like more information about what school counselors do, please check out their website.
I am absolutely available to conference with you regarding your concerns or questions. I believe that the school-home connection is critical to the success of students. My door is always open! Because I work at two schools, e-mail is the easiest way to get ahold of me. Please feel free to contact me...I would love to hear more about your child. I look forward to meeting you!
I am a 12 year resident of Walworth County and have always enjoyed the culture and atmosphere of Whitewater. As a rural small town, Whitewater has a proud history and strong family values and the University adds an element of culture and relevance. The Whitewater Unified School District offers the surrounding community the opportunity for a personalized education for each student with a dedicated and talented staff. Whitewater is a great place to be!
