When I began looking for a new school to call home, I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to find a place that would be a good fit. During the search, I ended up in Whitewater, specifically at Washington Elementary School, assisting a child in the special education program. Later, when I applied for and was offered a teaching position, I knew exactly where I wanted be. The staff at Washington is a dedicated and dynamic team. They strive to provide the best possible learning experience for all of the students in their care. Each child is a valued member of the school. The students support and encourage each other, as well, recognizing that what may appear to others as a routine task... is really far more than that. I am proud to be part of this team and happy that I found my "good fit" school.
When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, searching for teaching materials on the internet, creating Donors Choose projects for our classroom, crafting, playing with our puppy, Penny Lane, and chatting with our two grown daughters, Molly (an interior designer) and Kate (the digital photographer who took my profile picture). My husband, Charlie, retired this summer after working for the Whitewater Unified School District for 31 years! He is now researching a project or two for the next chapter of his life... and making dinner! :)
