Mrs. Troxel
My name is Valerie Troxel and I teach General Music and Choir at Washington Elementary School in the Whitewater Unified School District.

Why Whitewater?
As I spend more time in Whitewater, I sense such a strong support system for the arts and education starting with the youngest musicians through seasoned performers. That is one of the reasons I was attracted to Whitewater. My philosophy of teaching is simple- if people enjoy something, they will pursue it. Children inertly enjoy music; making music, listening to music, creating music. My job is to build on that original passion and hopefully lead them in a musical direction for life! WUSD is the perfect school district for me.

As for my teaching experience, I spent four years in Beloit teaching music in several elementary schools while earning my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Multiple Intelligences. I then spent another 6 years in Janesville also teaching elementary students the joys of music. I started teaching in Whitewater in 2011.

Every day is an adventure in music class. Stop by the music room and hear what we are all about.
