Why Whitewater?

During the course of my career, I have taught in three different states and overseas. I am thrilled to be teaching in Whitewater! This community offers the comforts of a small town with the world-class opportunities of a nearby university. The teachers and staff at the Whitewater schools work together to meet students' needs better than any other place I have worked. The families care about each other and the schools are true centers of the community.

I love teaching advanced learners! Their curiosity and ability to look at the world in unique ways has kept me learning along with them. My initial career was teaching high school science. When my daughters started school, I volunteered in their advanced classes and found that working with students to strengthen critical and creative thinking was incredibly dynamic and engaging. I taught advanced learners for five years before coming to Whitewater in 2013.

My husband, Keith, and I met in college and we have kept growing and learning together. Our oldest daughter, Ana, graduated from UW Eau Claire and is working in Seattle as a graphic designer. Lia, our youngest daughter, graduated with a major in history and minor in Latin from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is now doing historical research in Minneapolis. When we're not visiting Washington or Minnesota, Keith and I enjoy gardening, bicycling, skiing and reading.

Thanks for visiting this website. I look forward to meeting you!
